The target audience of DM Magazine is teenagers of either gender between the ages of 16 and 19, in Douay Martyrs Sixth Form. They are full time students, but work part-time at weekends when they aren't socializing with their friends. They love listening to music and watching films or television, and even though they’d rather be doing that, they do put effort into their studies. The target audience manages to juggle their buzzing social life with their budding academic career, dedicating time to work on their education. They value the modern human’s right highly; the right to be who you are without racism, homophobia, sexism or any kind of discrimination and have a sense of right and wrong, although they will willingly admit their faults; that they don’t always listen to that sense. Bubbly, funny, sarcastic, outgoing and friendly would describe them well, along with responsible and independent. They feel like they need to gain a good education to get places in life, to become rich, and will try to get there by any means necessary. They have pretty basic needs; always wanting to look good, keeping up with all of the latest fashions and styles, and wanting to socialize with their friends a lot.
This magazine will prove to be useful to them by providing for these needs and ones they didn’t know they had. It will satisfy their need for up to date information on a variety of subjects from sport news to how to apply to a university. It will show all facets of the educational system, exam board information and school news, and places to spend their recreational time.
